Full Guide Boss Info Gear Progression

Getting Started

Your first steps in the world of Areos

Areos Home Spawn Area

Welcome to Areos. When you first log in you'll spawn at Edgeville — the home area. Type ::home at any time to return here. Below is your first 30 minutes, step by step.

Stuck? Type ::help in-game, ask in public chat, or hit up our Discord.
1

Learn the basics

Get familiar with key commands right away: ::home (teleport to Edgeville), ::commands (full command list), ::vote (vote panel), ::claimvote (claim your vote rewards), ::claim (claim store purchases).

2

Vote — do this IMMEDIATELY

Voting is the single best thing a new player can do. It's free, takes 5 minutes, and gives you vote tickets, mystery boxes, bonds, and GP. Run ::vote, click through every site, then run ::claimvote. Repeat every 12 hours.

3

Get your starter loadout

Visit the Starter Store at home for food (Lobsters), basic potions, and 30-second potions. Celestial arrows are also stocked here at 30k gp each — you'll need these later for the Celestial Longbow.

4

Train your stats, then hit ::souls

Level your combat stats at the training area found at home. Once you have some stats, head to ::souls — your first boss area. The three bosses here (Soul Reaver, Soul Crusher, Soul Caller) are designed for early-game players and drop solid starter loot.

5

Meet Ghrim Sacrificial

Find Ghrim Sacrificial at the home area. He runs the Sacrifice System — one of the most important progression mechanics in Areos. Offer items for sacrifice points, then spend those points on perks and Celestial arrows.

Game Modes

Choose how you want to experience Areos

Normal

The standard experience. Full access to trading, the marketplace, and standard drop rates. Recommended for new players.

Ironman

Self-sufficient gameplay. No trading or receiving items from other players. All gear must be earned yourself.

Hardcore

One life. If you die, your Hardcore status is lost. The ultimate challenge for experienced players.

Gear Progression

From starter gear to best-in-slot

Areos has a clear six-tier progression path. Each tier unlocks new bosses and content. Here's the full roadmap from log-in to endgame.

TierWhat to doGear target
T1 — TutorialTrain at combat area (home), kill NPCs at homeRune armour, Whip
T2 — SlayerSlayer master at home, easy tasksDragon armour, Saradomin sword
T3 — Mid bossesCerberus, Barrelchest, Demonic GorillasBandos / Armadyl, Toxic Blowpipe
T4 — RaidsCoX, ToB, ToATwisted Bow, Scythe of Vitur, Tumeken's Shadow
T5 — Custom bossesYama, Xamphur, Grim Reaper, CorpCustom BIS sets
T6 — Mega bossesEndgame custom bossesDivine sets, Celestial Longbow, Hueycoatl staff

Early Game (T1–T2)

Early Game Rune Armour
Early Game Dragon Armour

First steps

Start with Rune armour and a Whip from the starter store or early NPCs. Progress to Dragon armour and a Saradomin sword through Slayer tasks. All three Soul bosses at ::souls are accessible at this stage — they drop useful early gear.

Mid Game (T3–T4)

Torva Armour with Scythe of Vitur Torva Armour + Scythe
Ancestral Armour with Sanguinesti Staff Ancestral + Sanguinesti Staff

Stepping up

Aim for Torva armour paired with a Scythe of Vitur for melee, or Ancestral armour with a Sanguinesti Staff for magic. These come from mid-tier bosses (Cerberus, Barrelchest, Demonic Gorillas) and Raids. Mastering prayer-switching at the Crash Site is key before stepping into end-game content.

Best in Slot (T5–T6)

BIS Melee — Fate Sword
BIS Range — Celestial Bow
BIS Magic — Hueycoatl Staff
True BIS is the Fate Sword (melee), Celestial Longbow (range), and Hueycoatl Staff (magic — no charges required). These come from custom T5–T6 bosses and BIS Caskets.

Bosses

Every boss, their drops, and how to kill them

Starter Bosses — ::souls

All three starter bosses are in the ::souls area. These are designed for your first 48 hours and are accessible with early-game gear.
Soul Reaver

Soul Reaver

Easy Solo

The first boss you should kill. Good for learning the combat system and building up early gold. Add screenshot & drops when available.

Soul Crusher

Soul Crusher

Easy Solo

Second soul boss — a step up from Soul Reaver. Better drops, slightly tougher mechanics. Add screenshot & drops when available.

Soul Caller

Soul Caller

Easy Solo

Hardest of the three Soul bosses. Clears the path to mid-tier content. Add screenshot & drops when available.

Mid Tier Bosses

Cerberus

Cerberus

Medium Solo

Classic OSRS boss. Gear up to Bandos before attempting. Good GP drops. Add screenshot & drop table when available.

Barrelchest

Barrelchest

Medium Donator

Donator-only boss. Every $10 you spend on the store earns you one spawn, activated by a Dev+. Add screenshot & drop table when available.

Demonic Gorillas — Core Game Mechanic: Not a boss, but an essential training area found at the Crash Site. Gorillas switch combat styles and prayer mid-fight. Mastering gear-switching and prayer-switching here is required before you can efficiently handle end-game bosses. Drops the Toxic Blowpipe. Learn this well — you'll use these skills for the rest of your account.

Custom End Game Bosses

Judge of Yama

Judge of Yama

Hard Donator

Teleport: ::yama. Donator-tier boss with top-tier loot. One of the best GP-per-hour bosses in Areos. Add screenshot & drops when available.

Xamphur

Xamphur

Hard Group

Vote boss. Spawns minions and requires high DPS to clear efficiently. Bring your best range or mage setup. Add screenshot & drops when available.

Grim Reaper

Grim Reaper

Hard Solo

Teleport: ::reaper (alias ::grim). Drops the Witch Set and custom items. Add screenshot & drops when available.

Corporeal Beast

Corporeal Beast

Hard Group

Drops the Red Elysian Spirit Shield at approximately 1/60,000. A rare endgame trophy. Add screenshot when available.

Raids

Chambers of Xeric

Chambers of Xeric (CoX)

Hard Group

Recommended for new raiders. Top drops: Twisted Bow. Good starting raid — learn the mechanics here first.

Theatre of Blood

Theatre of Blood (ToB)

Hard Group

Top drops: Scythe of Vitur. Higher difficulty than CoX — recommended after you have Bandos/Armadyl tier gear.

Tombs of Amascut

Tombs of Amascut (ToA)

Hard Group

Top drops: Tumeken's Shadow. The hardest of the three raids. Scale the invocation level to match your group's strength.

All three raids are live on Areos. Recommended order: CoX → ToB → ToA. Ask in public chat for a group — the community is always happy to help new raiders.

The Sacrifice System

Ghrim Sacrificial — the most important NPC for new players

Find Ghrim Sacrificial at the home area. He has three tabs that form the backbone of account progression on Areos. Save your first 1,000+ sacrifice points for the QoL perks you want most.

Ghrim Sacrificial — NPC Interface

Tab 1 — Perks

Spend sacrifice points on permanent account upgrades: faster run energy regen, reduced prayer drain, damage / loot / XP boosts, and pet drop rate bonuses.

Tab 2 — Offerings

Offer items to Ghrim in exchange for sacrifice points. High-value items = high point reward. Junk items give low points but it adds up. BIS gear gives massive points.

Tab 3 — Shop

Spend sacrifice points on Celestial arrows — all 4 types at just 10 sac points each. This is the cheapest source. Stock thousands — you'll need them for the Celestial Longbow.

Celestial arrow types available from Ghrim: Fire (33060), Shadow (33061), Ice (33062), Poison (33063). All identical mechanics — pick your aesthetic.

Caskets & Mystery Boxes

Areos has multiple tiered caskets and mystery boxes with unique loot pools

Caskets and mystery boxes are a core part of the Areos economy. Opening them is one of the main ways to obtain custom gear, recolors, and endgame items without directly bossing for them.

BIS Casket Tiers

CasketItem IDLoot Pool
BIS Casket25590Full random pool — 190 endgame items (Tbow, Scythe, customs, recolors, etc.)
BIS Casket 133050Pharaoh Mummy recolors — 50 pieces, 10 colours × 5 slots
BIS Casket 233051Ankou recolors — 50 pieces, 10 colours × 5 slots
BIS Casket 333052Bunny recolors — 66 pieces, 11 colours × 6 slots
BIS Casket 433053Anubis recolors — 120 pieces, 20 colours × 6 slots

Mystery Box Tiers

BoxItem IDTier
Mystery Box29914Common — basic loot
Super Mystery Box29954Mid-tier — gear + GP
Ultra Mystery Box29955Top-tier — high chance of custom items
Pet Mystery Box29942Pet pool only
Important: BIS Caskets are store-exclusive — they can only be purchased on the website. Bosses and other sources can drop the items inside a BIS Casket directly, but never the casket itself.

From the Store (only source)

Buy BIS Casket bundles (3×/5×/10×/20×) on the website via ::store. Active promo codes: AREOS20, AREOS#1, AREOS25.

Items from Bosses

Yama, Xamphur, Grim Reaper and others can drop the individual items that a BIS Casket could give — but you'll never see the actual casket drop from a boss.

Pro Tips

Hoard Ultra Mystery Boxes for events and double-loot weekends. Have at least 20 free inventory slots before claiming large purchases.

Celestial Weapons

The flagship custom weapons of Areos

Areos has two fully custom weapon families that define endgame combat. Understanding how they work is essential for any serious player.

Celestial Longbow — Flagship Range Weapon

Celestial Longbow

How it works

REQUIRES Celestial arrows — no other arrow type works. Celestial arrows cannot be fired from any other bow. Each shot deals 1.4× standard range damage + +1% of the target's max HP as bonus damage (capped at +200 per hit). Fires 2 main projectiles + 4 splits per swing at 3-tick speed.

13 Variants

Base bow (32787) + 12 recolors (32850–32861): Green, Purple, Gold, Black, White, Pink, Orange, Lime, Blood, Ice, Shadow, Infernal. All identical mechanics — cosmetic only.

Hueycoatl Staff — Flagship Magic Weapon

How it works

Inherits Tumeken's Shadow mechanics with one major difference: no charges required — fires forever. Base staff (29948) + 12 recolors (32915–32926). If you encounter old charged variants, the charges are cosmetic only now.

13 Variants

Base staff (29948) + 12 recolors (32915–32926): Green, Purple, Gold, Black, White, Pink, Orange, Lime, Blood, Ice, Shadow, Infernal. All variants share the same mechanics — purely cosmetic. Old charged versions you may find have cosmetic-only charges and fire indefinitely regardless.

Vote Tickets (29903)

Each vote ticket is worth ~5–10M GP to bigger players. Stack 100+ and ask in public chat to sell. Spend them at the Vote Manager NPC for gear and rewards.

Areos Bonds (13190)

The currency of high-tier trades. Traditionally 800M–1B GP each. Available as a vote jackpot or from the donation store. Used to bet at the Blackjack table.

Early GP Methods

Skilling (Fishing/Mining/WC), low-level NPCs (Cows, Hill Giants for limwurt roots, Moss Giants for herbs), and selling vote loot — fastest early-game income.

Use ::ge to access the Grand Exchange. Ironman accounts cannot trade with other players. All trades are face-to-face or via the GE.
