Welcome to Areos

Everything you need to know to get started, grow your account, and dominate the realm. Updated with real in-game data.

Full Guide Boss Info Gear Progression

Getting Started

Your first steps in the world of Areos

Areos Home Spawn Area

Welcome to Areos. When you first log in you'll spawn at Edgeville — the home area. Type ::home at any time to return here. Below is your first 30 minutes, step by step.

Stuck? Type ::help in-game, ask in public chat, or hit up our Discord.
1

Learn the basics

Get familiar with key commands right away: ::home (teleport to Edgeville), ::commands (full command list), ::vote (vote panel), ::claimvote (claim your vote rewards), ::claim (claim store purchases).

2

Vote — do this IMMEDIATELY

Voting is the single best thing a new player can do. It's free, takes 5 minutes, and gives you vote tickets, mystery boxes, bonds, and GP. Run ::vote, click through every site, then run ::claimvote. Repeat every 12 hours.

3

Get your starter loadout

Visit the Starter Store at home for food (Lobsters), basic potions, and 30-second potions. Celestial arrows are also stocked here at 30k gp each — you'll need these later for the Celestial Longbow.

4

Train your stats, then hit ::souls

Level your combat stats at the training area found at home. Once you have some stats, head to ::souls — your first boss area. The three bosses here (Soul Reaver, Soul Crusher, Soul Caller) are designed for early-game players and drop solid starter loot.

5

Meet Ghrim Sacrificial

Find Ghrim Sacrificial at the home area. He runs the Sacrifice System — one of the most important progression mechanics in Areos. Offer items for sacrifice points, then spend those points on perks and Celestial arrows.

Your First Login

There is no Tutorial Island. When you first log in you customise your character at the Makeover Mage, then a Guide NPC asks you to set two things — both chosen once and permanent:

XP RateSpeedDrop Bonus
Easy45×None
Medium20×+4% drop rate
Hard+8% drop rate

You also choose your game mode (Standard or an Ironman variant). New accounts spawn at Edgeville, the server home.

Game Modes

Choose how you want to experience Areos

Normal

The standard experience. Full access to trading, the marketplace, and standard drop rates. Recommended for new players.

Ironman

Self-sufficient gameplay. No trading or receiving items from other players. All gear must be earned yourself.

Hardcore

One life. If you die, your Hardcore status is lost. The ultimate challenge for experienced players.

Ultimate Ironman

Ironman with no bank access. Everything must be carried or dropped. The most restrictive solo mode.

Group Ironman

Team up. Share items within your group only, with no trading outside it. Progress as a self-sufficient team.

Hardcore Group Ironman

Group Ironman with one shared life. Lose hardcore status on death. For coordinated, experienced teams.

Game Mode Selection Screen

Understanding the combat system

Areos uses a combat system based on OSRS mechanics. Understanding the combat triangle and your gear's strengths and weaknesses is key to surviving harder content.

Skills

Stats, levelling, and what each skill does

When you start, you choose your XP rate — Easy (45×), Medium (20×), or Hard (2×). Most players pick Easy for fast maxing — you can realistically hit 99 in a few hours of focused grinding.
Skills Panel

Prestige System

Type ::prestige once you reach the cap. There are two separate tracks — Combat (all 8 combat skills at 99) and Skilling (all 15 non-combat skills at 99):

Track Tree Point Item Reward Sac Points Shop Tokens
Combat (1→2) +1 Combat Tree Point 1× Super Mystery Box 5,000 3 Prestige Tokens
Skilling (1→2) +1 Skill Tree Point 2× Supply Crates 5,000 3 Prestige Tokens

Each prestige grants a skill-tree point, 5,000 sacrifice points, a mystery box and 3 Prestige Tokens; every 5th prestige also awards a Mastery Point.

Spend tree points across two skill trees — Combat (Melee / Range / Mage) and Skilling (Gathering / Artisan / Support). Small nodes give % boosts; mastery nodes cost Mastery Points. The Prestige Token Shop sells XP scrolls, mystery boxes, drop-rate scrolls and full skilling outfits.

Combat Skills

Attack, Strength, Defence, Hitpoints, Ranged, Magic, and Prayer directly impact how hard you hit and how much damage you can take. The combat training area is located at home.

Top Money Skills

Fishing (Anglerfish — high alch value), Mining (Runite + Onyx), Woodcutting (Magic logs), Hunter (Black chinchompas). Easy 99s for GP: Cooking, Firemaking, Fletching.

Gear Progression

From starter gear to best-in-slot

Areos has a clear six-tier progression path. Each tier unlocks new bosses and content. Here's the full roadmap from log-in to endgame.

TierWhat to doGear target
T1 — TutorialTrain at combat area (home), kill NPCs at homeRune armour, Whip
T2 — SlayerSlayer master at home, easy tasksDragon armour, Saradomin sword
T3 — Mid bossesCerberus, Demonic GorillasBandos / Armadyl, Toxic Blowpipe

T5 — Custom bossesYama, Xamphur, Grim Reaper, CorpCustom BIS sets
T6 — Mega bossesEndgame custom bossesDivine sets, Celestial Longbow, Hueycoatl staff

Early Game (T1–T2)

Early Game Rune Armour
Early Game Dragon Armour

First steps

Start with Rune armour and a Whip from the starter store or early NPCs. Progress to Dragon armour and a Saradomin sword through Slayer tasks. All three Soul bosses at ::souls are accessible at this stage — they drop useful early gear.

Mid Game (T3–T4)

Torva Armour with Scythe of Vitur Torva Armour + Scythe
Ancestral Armour with Sanguinesti Staff Ancestral + Sanguinesti Staff

Stepping up

Aim for Torva armour paired with a Scythe of Vitur for melee, or Ancestral armour with a Sanguinesti Staff for magic. These come from mid-tier bosses (Cerberus, Demonic Gorillas) and Raids. Mastering prayer-switching at the Crash Site is key before stepping into end-game content.

Best in Slot (T5–T6)

BIS Melee — Fate Sword
BIS Range — Celestial Bow
BIS Magic — Hueycoatl Staff
True BIS is the Fate Sword (melee), Celestial Longbow (range), and Hueycoatl Staff (magic — no charges required). These come from custom T5–T6 bosses and BIS Caskets.

Bosses

Every boss, their drops, and how to kill them

Starter Bosses — ::souls

All three starter bosses are in the ::souls area. These are designed for your first 48 hours and are accessible with early-game gear.
Soul Reaver

Soul Reaver

Easy Solo

The first boss you should kill. Good for learning the combat system and building up early gold. Add screenshot & drops when available.

Soul Crusher

Soul Crusher

Easy Solo

Second soul boss — a step up from Soul Reaver. Better drops, slightly tougher mechanics. Add screenshot & drops when available.

Soul Caller

Soul Caller

Easy Solo

Hardest of the three Soul bosses. Clears the path to mid-tier content. Add screenshot & drops when available.

Mid Tier Bosses

Cerberus

Cerberus

Medium Solo

Classic OSRS boss. Gear up to Bandos before attempting. Good GP drops. Add screenshot & drop table when available.

Demonic Gorillas — Core Game Mechanic: Not a boss, but an essential training area found at the Crash Site. Gorillas switch combat styles and prayer mid-fight. Mastering gear-switching and prayer-switching here is required before you can efficiently handle end-game bosses. Drops the Toxic Blowpipe. Learn this well — you'll use these skills for the rest of your account.

Custom End Game Bosses

Judge of Yama

Judge of Yama

Hard Donator

Teleport: ::yama. Donator-tier boss with top-tier loot. One of the best GP-per-hour bosses in Areos. Add screenshot & drops when available.

Xamphur

Xamphur

Hard Group

Public vote boss (also runs hourly — drops roll twice during the event). Spawns minions and requires high DPS to clear efficiently. Bring your best range or mage setup. Add screenshot & drops when available.

Grim Reaper

Grim Reaper

Hard Solo

Teleport: ::reaper (alias ::grim). Drops the Witch Set and custom items. Add screenshot & drops when available.

Corporeal Beast

Corporeal Beast

Hard Group

God Wars & Custom Bosses

Nex

Hard Group

Teleport: ::nex. God Wars (Zaros) boss — a multi-phase fight with Blood Reaver minions. Bring prayer switches. Add screenshot & drops when available.

Phantom Muspah

Hard Solo

Teleport: ::muspah. Solo, instanced. Shifts between ranged, magic and melee and spawns ground spikes — pray correctly and keep moving. Add screenshot & drops when available.

The Great Guardian

Medium Group

Teleport: ::guardian (alias ::sage). Public boss — a fresh one spawns every 15 minutes. Add screenshot & drops when available.

Vardorvis

Hard Solo

Desert Treasure II boss — walk into its arena (no teleport). Drops Ultor vestige, Virtus (mask/top/legs), Executioner's axe head and Chromium ingot, plus Strangled tablet, Awakener's orb and Blood quartz.

Also on Areos: Vorkath (public spawn), Zulrah (instanced), Alchemical Hydra (Slayer instance), The Nightmare (entrance portal), Skotizo (Catacombs dark altar — needs a Dark totem), Kalphite Queen (lair), Giant Mole (dig the Falador molehills) and Shadow Wyrm (hourly event near ::chill).

Raids

Chambers of Xeric

Chambers of Xeric (CoX)

Hard Group

Recommended for new raiders. Top drops: Twisted Bow. Good starting raid — learn the mechanics here first.

Theatre of Blood

Theatre of Blood (ToB)

Hard Group

Top drops: Scythe of Vitur. Higher difficulty than CoX — recommended after you have Bandos/Armadyl tier gear.

Tombs of Amascut

Tombs of Amascut (ToA)

Hard Group

Top drops: Tumeken's Shadow. The hardest of the three raids. Scale the invocation level to match your group's strength.

All three raids are live on Areos. Recommended order: CoX → ToB → ToA. Ask in public chat for a group — the community is always happy to help new raiders.

Collection Log

Track every drop — and get paid for completing it

Open your Collection Log from the item of the same name. It tracks unique obtains across Bosses, Raids, Clues, Minigames and Other. Every completed entry has a claimable reward:

Standard Entry

Most completed entries pay out 1 Ultimate Mystery Box.

The 3 Raids

Each raid log = 1 Ultimate Mystery Box + 50 Areos Bonds + a Rank-10 Bond.

Top Bosses

Nex, Corporeal Beast, Vorkath, the DT2 bosses and the Whisperer each give 3 Ultimate Mystery Boxes + 10 Areos Bonds.

Achievement Diaries

Regional diaries plus a custom achievement track

Regional Diaries

12 regions, each with Easy / Medium / Hard / Elite tiers. Claim your rewards at each region's Task Master. Unlocks include classics like the Karamja gloves and Rada's Blessing.

Custom Achievements

A separate task system running from Easy all the way to Grandmaster, rewarding achievement points and items as you tick off goals across the server.

The Sacrifice System

Ghrim Sacrificial — the most important NPC for new players

Find Ghrim Sacrificial at the home area. He has three tabs that form the backbone of account progression on Areos. Save your first 1,000+ sacrifice points for the QoL perks you want most.

Ghrim Sacrificial — NPC Interface

Tab 1 — Perks

Purchase permanent account upgrades with your sacrifice points: faster run energy regen, reduced prayer drain, damage / loot / XP boosts, and pet drop rate bonuses.

Tab 2 — Offerings

Offer items to Ghrim in exchange for sacrifice points. High-value items = high point reward. Junk items give low points but it adds up. BIS gear gives massive points.

Tab 3 — Shop

Spend sacrifice points on Celestial arrows — all 4 types at just 10 sac points each. This is the cheapest source. Stock thousands — you'll need them for the Celestial Longbow.

Celestial arrow types available from Ghrim: Fire (33060), Shadow (33061), Ice (33062), Poison (33063). All identical mechanics — pick your aesthetic.

Sacrifice Perks — Ghrim & Sigmund

Ghrim's Perks

Buy with sacrifice points — around 35 one-time unlocks. Highlights: Usain Bolt (unlimited run energy), Quick Fingers (guaranteed pickpockets), Veteran Luck (+5% drop rate), Loot Magnet (+10% drop rate), Auto-Bank Loot, and Immortal Grind (auto-disabled during tournaments).

Sigmund's Curse Perks

An Edgeville NPC. You pay by consuming high-tier items, and every perk carries a downside. Example: 5× Holy Scythe grants a triple melee hit but −15% attack speed. Stack Torva / Ancestral / Masori for +25% strength in one style at a penalty to the other two.

Caskets & Mystery Boxes

Areos has multiple tiered caskets and mystery boxes with unique loot pools

Caskets and mystery boxes are a core part of the Areos economy. Opening them is one of the main ways to obtain custom gear, recolors, and endgame items without directly bossing for them.

BIS Casket Tiers

CasketItem IDLoot Pool
BIS Casket25590Full random pool — 190 endgame items (Tbow, Scythe, customs, recolors, etc.)
BIS Casket 133050Pharaoh Mummy recolors — 50 pieces, 10 colours × 5 slots
BIS Casket 233051Ankou recolors — 50 pieces, 10 colours × 5 slots
BIS Casket 333052Bunny recolors — 66 pieces, 11 colours × 6 slots
BIS Casket 433053Anubis recolors — 120 pieces, 20 colours × 6 slots
Legendary roll: every BIS Casket (33050–33053) has a ~1% chance (1/101) to instead pay out a custom BIS weapon — Blue Moon Spear, Lizard Bow, Polypore Staff or Holy Great Warhammer (see Custom Weapons below).

Mystery Box Tiers

BoxItem IDTier
Mystery Box29914Common — basic loot
Super Mystery Box29954Mid-tier — gear + GP
Ultimate Mystery Box29955Top-tier — high chance of custom items
Pet Mystery Box29930Pet pool only
Important: BIS Caskets are store-exclusive — they can only be purchased on the website. Bosses and other sources can drop the items inside a BIS Casket directly, but never the casket itself.

From the Store (only source)

Buy BIS Casket bundles (3×/5×/10×/20×) on the website via ::store. Active promo codes: AREOS20, AREOS#1, AREOS25.

Items from Bosses

Yama, Xamphur, Grim Reaper and others can drop the individual items that a BIS Casket could give — but you'll never see the actual casket drop from a boss.

Pro Tips

Hoard Ultimate Mystery Boxes for events and double-loot weekends. Have at least 20 free inventory slots before claiming large purchases.

Pets

Hatch eggs, roll stats, customise them, run a squad, trade with other players

Every pet is a rolled instance — rarity, element, ability, and 1–4 affixes are assigned when you crack an egg. Feed them, bond with them, prestige them past Mythic, dress them up, and even send a squad on expeditions. Everything lives in the Pet Codex.

Getting Started — Commands

CommandWhat it does
::petsOpens your Pet Codex — collection, stats, wardrobe, market, expeditions, everything
::summon <name>Summons a specific pet by name. Dismisses your squad — use ::team for the full squad.
::teamSummons your configured pet team (leader + squad, up to your slot capacity)
::petmilestones (or ::petmiles)See your Collection Log milestone progress + rewards
::teamexpedSend your pet team on an expedition (main source of Pet food)
::petmarket (or ::pm)Open the player-run Pet Market
::petboardServer-wide pet leaderboard
::nameplates (or ::petplates)Hide/show floating pet name-plates for you

The Eggs — Seven Tiers

The tier of egg you crack sets your rarity roll odds. Cracking an egg picks one of the 40 species in the pool (Crimson Wyrm → Giant Gold Hellpuppy, IDs 33600–33639) and rolls its rarity, element, ability, and affixes.

EggItem IDTier
Pet egg (generic)33557Baseline roll
Gilded pet egg33558Improved odds
Common pet egg33559Tier 0
Uncommon pet egg33560Tier 1
Rare pet egg33561Tier 2
Epic pet egg33562Tier 3
Legendary pet egg33563Tier 4 — best affix pool

Stat System — What Makes Pets Good

Rarity

Common → Uncommon → Rare → Epic → Legendary → Mythic. Rolled at hatch. Sets the base power and affix count.

Element

Fire / Water / Earth / etc. — matchups matter vs specific bosses. Rolled at hatch.

Style & Ability

Combat style the pet leans into + a big active effect tied to the species and rarity.

Affixes (1–4)

Stat bonuses rolled at hatch. Higher-tier egg = better affix pool. Legendary eggs have the largest jackpot ceiling.

XP / Level

Feed Pet food to your active pet to level it up — unlocks scaling bonuses.

Bond

Grows the more you use that pet. +2% pet power per bond level. Use pets often — it compounds.

Prestige

Once you Max a pet, prestige stars add +8% pet power each. Post-Mythic scaling.

How to Obtain Pet Food

Pet food is the only way to level your pet up. Right now there are two working sources for regular players — boss drop tables are still being wired.

Pet Expeditions — ::teamexped

Build a pet team in ::pets, then send them on a mission with ::teamexped. Missions run in real time; when the team returns, food is a random reward slot on the payout. Main ongoing source once you have a team.

Collection Log 50% Milestone — ::petmilestones

Hitting 50% collection completion pays out a one-time 250 Pet food + 100 Soul shards. Check progress and claim status with ::petmilestones. Higher tiers (75% / 100%) reward Essence + Gilded eggs.

Coming soon: Pet food is being added to boss drop tables in a follow-up patch. Until then, expeditions and the 50% milestone are the paths.

Wardrobe — Customisation

Once a pet is yours, you can dress it up. All these are configured inside the Codex:

Nickname & Colour

Custom text that floats as the pet's name-plate. Recolour the plate too.

Title

Prestige title displayed above or below the name.

Cosmetic Aura

Passive glow around your pet.

Disguise

Render your pet as a totally different species. Stats stay the same.

Summon Entrance

GFX played when the pet spawns.

Walk Trail

GFX left behind as the pet follows you.

Attack FX

GFX plays on the target when the pet attacks.

Trick & Favourite

Toggle idle fidget animation. Pin favourites to the front of your Codex grid.

Team Pets — Summon a Squad

You can spawn multiple pets at once. Slot count is tied to your donator rank + one optional store unlock. Configure your team in the Codex (Pets tab), then run ::team to summon them all.

Rank / UnlockSlots
Regular player1
Zenyte donator2
Royal donator3
+ purchased 4th slot+1 (cap 4)
Heads-up: ::summon <name> always spawns exactly one pet and dismisses your squad. For the full team use ::team or the Codex “summon team” action.

Name-plates

Floating title above your customised pet, visible to everyone. Requires the new client (already deployed — PC auto-updates via the launcher, mobile needs the new APK from Discord #download).

Toggle in Chat

::nameplates hides plates for you personally. Type it again to show. Right-click / menu names never change.

Set the Plate

Nickname + name colour are set on the wardrobe tab in the Codex. Both show up in the floating plate.

Pet Market

Player-Run Trading

Trade rolled pets with other players. Open with ::petmarket or ::pm. Set your asking prices; other players browse and buy.

Values Are Rarity-Based

Pet values are based on rarity and rolls, not fixed prices. A Legendary with strong affixes is worth far more than a Common of the same species.

Tips

Feed constantly

Pet food is the only way to level up. Feed whichever pet you want to power-level.

Use them often

Bond compounds faster than you'd think — +2% power per level. Keep your favourites out.

Keep duplicates

Extras stack as spares in your Codex and can be prestiged or sold on the market.

Save for Legendary

Higher-tier eggs give the biggest affix pools. Worth stacking up to a Legendary crack.

Clutter fix

If floating plates fill your screen, just ::nameplates to hide them all.

Reminder: You cannot pick up pets any more. They stay summoned until you swap them out via the Codex. Old “pets-in-bank” behavior was retired with the new system to prevent dupe abuse.

Celestial Weapons

The flagship custom weapons of Areos

Areos has two fully custom weapon families that define endgame combat. Understanding how they work is essential for any serious player.

Celestial Longbow — Flagship Range Weapon

Celestial Longbow

How it works

REQUIRES Celestial arrows — no other arrow type works. Celestial arrows cannot be fired from any other bow. Each shot deals 1.4× standard range damage + +1% of the target's max HP as bonus damage (capped at +200 per hit). Fires 2 main projectiles + 4 splits per swing at 2-tick speed.

13 Variants

Base bow (32787) + 12 recolors (32850–32861): Green, Purple, Gold, Black, White, Pink, Orange, Lime, Blood, Ice, Shadow, Infernal. All identical mechanics — cosmetic only.

Hueycoatl Staff — Flagship Magic Weapon

How it works

Inherits Tumeken's Shadow mechanics with one major difference: no charges required — fires forever. Base staff (29948) + 12 recolors (32915–32926). If you encounter old charged variants, the charges are cosmetic only now.

13 Variants

Base staff (29948) + 12 recolors (32915–32926): Green, Purple, Gold, Black, White, Pink, Orange, Lime, Blood, Ice, Shadow, Infernal. All variants share the same mechanics — purely cosmetic. Old charged versions you may find have cosmetic-only charges and fire indefinitely regardless.

Hueycoatl Staff

Custom BIS Weapons

Beyond the Celestial line, four fully custom weapons round out best-in-slot. Each is a legendary BIS Casket prize (see Caskets & Mystery Boxes).

Weapon (ID)StyleWhat it does
Lizard Bow (28834)RangedFires 3 fire arrows per attack — no ammo needed.
Polypore Staff (32042)MagicChains to up to 4 nearby enemies and stacks a spore-rot damage-over-time — no runes needed.
Holy Great Warhammer (32172)Melee (crush)Judgement stacks add bonus true damage to your next hit, and it scorches Consecrated Ground beneath you.
Blue Moon Spear (28988)Melee (stab)3 stabs per swing plus a "moonlit wave" that hits everything up to 7 tiles ahead.

The Vote System

Your daily routine — voting is a core progression mechanic

Voting on Areos isn't just "support the server" — it's a core progression mechanic. Vote every 12 hours, claim with ::claimvote, and stack your streak for escalating rewards.

Pro tip: Don't miss a day. The vote streak resets if you go a full calendar day without voting — and the streak milestone rewards are massive.

Rewards Per Claim

RewardRate / Condition
Vote Tickets (29903)3 per vote claimed — scales with streak up to 15 tickets

Well of Goodwill

The community pools GP into the Well. For every 50M deposited the server gets 1 hour of double vote (durations stack). While active, vote tickets, lottery tickets and the every-5-votes Mystery Box are all doubled.

Streak 30+ Bonus

Once your vote streak reaches 30 days, the bonus rolls on every claim — Super Mystery Box, Ultimate Mystery Box, the 30-bond jackpot and the 300M GP drop — all roll twice.

Economy

Trading, the marketplace, and making gold

Vote Tickets (29903)

Each vote ticket is worth ~5–10M GP to bigger players. Stack 100+ and ask in public chat to sell. Spend them at the Vote Manager NPC for gear and rewards.

Areos Bonds (13190)

The currency of high-tier trades. Traditionally 800M–1B GP each. Available as a vote jackpot or from the donation store. Used to bet at the Blackjack table.

Early GP Methods

Skilling (Fishing/Mining/WC), low-level NPCs (Cows, Hill Giants for limwurt roots, Moss Giants for herbs), and selling vote loot — fastest early-game income.

Use ::ge to access the Grand Exchange. Ironman accounts cannot trade with other players. All trades are face-to-face or via the GE.
